Hospitals in Islamic Civilization

Imagine a nation where every hospital is free of cost irrespective to your status, caste, gender, religion, nationality. A multi-speciality hospital providing you a clothes, well furnished wards, delicious food, specialized doctors, that too free of cost. Not just this even giving the patient money and food as a compensation for being out of work during his hospital stay. Isn't it mind-blowing?? This is what hospitals were in the Islamic Civilization. In early medieval where Europe belief that illness is supernatural, uncontrollable, incurable. Muslims took completely different approach because of the saying of prophet Muhammadﷺ, “God has sent down the disease and he has appointed cure for every disease, so treat yourself medically”(¹) Mobile Dispensaries The first known Islamic care center was set up in a tent by Rufaydah al-Aslamiyah r.a during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammadﷺ. Famously, during the Ghazwah Khandaq, she treated the wounded in a separ...

Islam and casualty

Causality is the principle or relationship between causes and effects. It asserts that every event (effect) has a cause or set of causes that precede it and lead to its occurrence. In essence, causality explains how one event or action leads to the occurrence of another, forming a sequence where the cause directly influences the outcome. For long causality has been used to back various pseudosciences and corrupted ideology. From a secular world-view the existence of the universe itself is a product of cause and effect, while it denies the initial cause or have no answers for what caused the cause to cause. In this article we aim to discuss the only logical explanation of causality with respect to sound intellect and objective laws of reality. Dr. Israr Ahmad on Causality and Its Relationship with Divine Decree Dr. Israr Ahmad ( Rahimahullah ) offers a profound explanation of causality and its connection to Qadr, or Divine Decree, in Islamic theology. He emphasizes that nothing in the ...

Syed Sadatullah Hussaini's clarion call for striving to make a change in the public opinion is a need of the hour

In a bold move aimed at reshaping societal views, Jamat e Islami Hind has declared its mission to positively influence public opinion regarding Muslims and Islam over the next four years. This initiative comes in the wake of a growing concern about the negative narratives that are being propagated against the Indian muslim community. As per the editorial column of the magazine zindagi e nau’s August edition, Jamat will be active in designing its activities & programs in a manner which is most suited to stir a positive change in the public opinion. Ameer e Jamat e islami, Hind Syed Sadatullah Hussaini emphasised, in the editorial column, that while many believe political change alone could resolve the issues faced by Muslims, the truth is that only confronting and altering public sentiment is pivotal to everything else and added that the endeavour required immense courage and determination inviting people to take steps towards this endeavour. He underlined that this task demands th...

Judging Faith by Fabric: The Danger of Equating Piety with kurta pyjama

A society which reduces itself to passing judgements on people's clothing & confines itself to a rigid dress code - a violation of which calls for labelling others as irreligious & even evil - is naturally stagnant and, to many, toxic. In a society where people are, almost, always judged and their piety is gauged almost exclusively by their adherence to a particular dress code, indicates that something has gone wrong with the thought process of such a society. The situation would sound even more alarming & strange when we consider that this community currently faces monumental challenges globally, yet chooses to obsess over clothing choices. Any divergence from the norm is condemned as "deviation”. You might wonder about the mental health of such a collective, and you’d be right to ask. What if I told you that this society is none other than the Muslim’s , unfortunately! A community that claims to follow the final revelation/wahi/shruti and sees itself as the custo...

Sijjin And Illiyun

As I was reading Al-Quran, Chapter 83; Surah Al Mutaffiffin. I came across verses where Allah SWT warns to people who cheat and fraud. How they will be treated in life after. In Chapter 83 verse 1-9, Allah SWT says, Woe to the defrauders! Those who take full measure ˹when they buy˺ from people, but give less when they measure or weigh for buyers. Do such people not think that they will be resurrected for a tremendous Day— the Day ˹all˺ people will stand before the Lord of all worlds? But no! The wicked are certainly bound for Sijjîn ˹in the depths of Hell˺— and what will make you realize what Sijjîn is?— a fate ˹already˺ sealed. As we read the above verses, we can clearly understand how Allah SWT doesn't like people who cheat or fraud people, though it be a small business or something more than that. But nowadays people have become very comfortable in cheating, defrauding or in today’s word SCAMMING. Maybe they can do it now and walk away without any consequences or punishment, But...

In this article, I will thoroughly go through the problems in the current economic system and if there is any way out of these problems. Currently, there are only two known systems in the world: capitalism and socialism. Both of these systems have some unsolvable problems in today's reality like, Inflation, fiscal deficits, unemployment, poverty, etc. In capitalism, you've inequality, income disparity, exploitation of people, economic crisis, etc. In socialism, there are problems like lack of innovation, economic stagnation, corruption, high dependence on government, lack of incentives, etc. There is one more economic system that is better than any other system in this world, “The Islamic economic system”. As I progress through this article I'll explain how the Islamic system solves all of the problems that this corrupt system has created and how this is the true system of justice. Islamic Economic system as an alternative: Islam is a global order, Islam is an ecosystem, a...
