Hospitals in Islamic Civilization

Imagine a nation where every hospital is free of cost irrespective to your status, caste, gender, religion, nationality. A multi-speciality hospital providing you a clothes, well furnished wards, delicious food, specialized doctors, that too free of cost. Not just this even giving the patient money and food as a compensation for being out of work during his hospital stay. Isn't it mind-blowing?? This is what hospitals were in the Islamic Civilization. In early medieval where Europe belief that illness is supernatural, uncontrollable, incurable. Muslims took completely different approach because of the saying of prophet Muhammadﷺ, “God has sent down the disease and he has appointed cure for every disease, so treat yourself medically”(¹) Mobile Dispensaries The first known Islamic care center was set up in a tent by Rufaydah al-Aslamiyah r.a during the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammadﷺ. How Ummah should view general elections and democracy?

When it comes to the general election, Muslims at large should understand that Islam has its own politics. Its own social, moral, economic, and political standards give sovereignty to Allah. The current world politics is at odds with the standards of Allah and his Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.

Politics affects everything including your daily life and because Islam is a way of life not only is it crucial to have Islamic politics but it’s also vital to understand what Islam has to say on politics itself.

On the issue of general election, there are many wicked and wild opinions but I do not vote as it is haram to give sovereignty of ruling to anyone other than Allah. Yet justifications are made based upon necessity, ignorance and in many cases benefit.

Remember that you are also voting for their policies on alcohol, homosexuality, interest, Zina, etc being legal and acceptable (contrary to what Allah says)
Remember that for reduced School fees you will be compromising the majority of your Islamic values and beliefs with a tick.

No matter if you're a rightist or leftist, You're backing a government that teaches kids about sexual relations. And who’s to say what they will legalize next, but will this stop you from backing them?

1) Someone could argue that if these things are set in stone what difference does it make if I vote either as these things will carry in either way.
To explain this let us say your father gave you a choice to marry 3 people who all were individuals who regularly committed major sins(Zina etc). Who will you pick from them? The one with the nice smile? The one with the most money? Who will you pick? The reality is we all know we would reject all of them. this is the same as not voting is an option that many people forget exists.

Just because either way you would marry a bad person didn’t make you choose one. The options were limited and all of them have the same problems doesn’t mean you will pick one. So how can we then make a decision between the political party as they are all involved in major sins. why in the case of the elections do we then force ourselves to make a decision.

Even if those marriage proposals paid for your uni/School fees or were pro-Palestine, would you accept them? "NO" you still won't, but why then shall we partner ourselves with political parties and leaders who have Muslim blood on their hands and allow everything Allah has forbidden.
Is it that we seek benefit over truth? Is it that money is worth more to us than our akhirah? If No. then you tell me what it is.

Because justifications can be found for most things, but why is it really that you chose to do an action, why is it really that you make choices? Benefit or Islam?

2) And to the people who say it is necessary for the safety of the Muslims abroad and domestically.
my brother/sister if you understand politics you will also understand that everything they say they do not have to follow through. They really look like they care for the Muslims, but they don’t, the congress is as bad, as racist bigots.

You cannot correlate voting with safety and security for the Muslims in reality but I agree in cases of necessity you can if it will directly give us safety.
The principle that haram becomes permissible in life-and-death situations.
But tell me how is it a necessity to vote in the current reality. When was your life at risk over this vote?

And if you say well maybe in the future we may face challenges so we should vote now. Then can I eat haram, in preparation for a time of hunger where I am fighting for life and death? Of course not, What an illogical and non-Islamic mentality. When we’re even in 5% of the problems that our Uyghur/Palestine brother and sister are In.

3) Finally for the people who say, it’s the lesser of two harams.
Firstly this isn’t a concept in Islam. Haram isn’t right because it’s not as big as another haram. It’s still haram. Even if we assume the lesser of the harams applies again surely the least haram option is not voting.
The truth is that we will have an akhirah where every atom weight of good and bad will be judged.

If Kufr laws aren’t that bad then why did the prophet have such hatred for Quraysh customs and traditions. Why did they dislike Abu Lahab (one of the main leaders of the Quraysh) so much?

Could you imagine him expressing support for Abu Lahab? And rallying people to support him? Not in our dreams. Would the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him, have voted for these non-Islamic hukms?
It’s easy to say we follow his example, but when you put him in our shoes we know he wouldn’t do the same.

Do you not think Allah will ask you about every atom weight of sin you did.
Do you not think that you will be accountable for a portion of all the haram that these political parties will do.
Imagine all the sins that happen in India and having a share in it, not a smart investment.
I will leave you with an extract from the Hadith and from the Quran

In Surah al ahzab (33:23) it says,
"Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration"
In a Hadith Umar Ibn Khattab, says:
“I fear the day when the disbelievers are proud of their falsehood, and the Muslims are shy of their faith."
Will we be the people who fulfill our promise to Allah and are proud of our deen? Or will we enjoin in the falsehood and be amongst the humiliated?

If we want to become that leading nation and great ummah again. these sacrifices need to be made. With short-term and long-term goals to help us please Allah.
May Allah allow us to become housed again through Islam and an ummah of principles and Islamic values.

Ameen!

Unequal narratives: Western Media bias and the Skewed Representation of Palestinian Women and Children

Western outlets disproportionately emphasize Israeli casualties, humanizing them with personal details, names, and stories, while Palestinian deaths are anonymized or reduced to numbers. For example, headlines like “Israeli mother killed by rocket” contrast sharply with “Several Palestinians dead in airstrike.” Language further compounds this bias, with terms like “collateral damage” and “tragic accidents” used to describe Palestinian deaths, often in passive voice (“children died” rather than “children were killed”). This disparity highlights a selective empathy, where Israeli victims are seen as innocent and deserving of global sympathy, while Palestinian lives are devalued, their deaths framed as inevitable or self-inflicted. Palestinian women and children are often depicted through stereotypes that strip them of agency and humanity. Women are portrayed as either oppressed victims or complicit in violence, such as the mothers of “martyrs.” Meanwhile, Palestinian children are framed ...

Idol Worship and Innate Fitrah

Human nature, or fitrah, is inherently designed with two core elements: worship and imitation. These aspects are deeply ingrained in human psychology and significantly influence how we form our identities, make decisions, and ultimately live our lives. Understanding how these elements shape our behaviour is crucial, particularly from an Islamic perspective, which emphasises the role of divine guidance in shaping a morally sound existence. When we think of "idol worship," many might picture people bowing before statues or images of deities in traditional religious practices. However, in today’s modern world, idol worship takes on a much broader and more subtle form. Idol worship is not limited to literal statues or religious icons; it also manifests as the obsessive admiration and emulation of celebrities, athletes, politicians, and other public figures. This modern form of idol worship occurs when individuals elevate certain figures to an almost divine status, admiring their ...
